BAY Stars are expected to start their pre-season training camp on Monday before the Safa Eastern Cape Second Division League resumes for the 2013-14 season.

The Port Elizabeth semi-professional football outfit were runners-up in the league last season when they finished four points behind provincial champions Mthatha Bucks.

It’s the third consecutive year that the home side have finished in the top four of the log table after they ended the 2010-11 season second and placed third in the 2011-12 season.

Stars technical director Mark Tommy said the team was starting the new season with a positive spirit.

“We don’t know yet when the league fixtures will kick off because all the teams are waiting for a fixture list from Safa’s head office,” Tommy said.

“While we are waiting for the fixtures the team should be getting ready and be prepared.”

Tommy said there were no changes to the team structure or the players at this stage.

“We will make an announcement of any changes that will take place in the team at a later stage. For now we will be preparing for the campaign ahead of us.”
