GREY High captain Lloyd Brown has been named in the South Africa under-19 squad to take part in a quadrangular tournament in India in September.
Pearson’s Brydon Carse was also part of the initial 30-man training squad but when the final 15 was named yesterday, only Brown’s name appeared on the selectors’ list.
South Africa will be captained by Gauteng’s Yaseen Valli and the other competing teams will be the hosts, Australia and Zimbabwe.
This tournament will serve as ideal preparation ahead of next year’s ICC under-19 World Cup to be played under similar conditions.
The squad is: Yaseen Valli (Gauteng, capt), Corbin Bosch (Northerns), Lloyd Brown (EP), Bradley Dial (Gauteng), Justin Dill (Boland), Clyde Fortuin (WP), Dayyaan Galiem (WP), Aiden Markram (Northerns), Lungisano Ngidi (KZN Inland), Sine Ntshona (Free State), Greg Oldfield (KZN Inland), Kagiso Rabada (Gauteng), Ngazibini Sigwili (Border), Jason Smith (WP), Hayes van der Berg (WP).
