THE accurate kicking of Stormers fullback Joe Pietersen in atrocious weather conditions was lauded by Southern Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons.
The Kings slipped to a narrow 19-11 Super Rugby defeat at a wet Newlands on Saturday.
Pietersen kicked 14 points in a hard-fought showdown in which both teams scored a try amid a swirling wind.
“It was difficult for kicking, so full credit to Pietersen. I thought his kicking was quite exceptional,” Solomons said.
“We think it was a good performance by the Kings. There was very little in the game so to come to Newlands and perform like that you have to give a lot of credit to the boys.”
