THE Southern Kings are sweating on the fitness of star flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis ahead of their crunch Super Rugby showdown against the Stormers at Newlands on Saturday.
“Demetri took a bang on the calf against the Cheetahs on Saturday and this is a concern to us,” Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons said. “The calf has been scanned, but nothing has shown up.”
Catrakilis was at the Springbok training camp in Durban yesterday, but has been sitting on the sidelines.
“We have to get Demetri back here and then we will assess the situation tomorrow,” Solomons said. “The decision on Demetri will impact on everything, including our bench for the team to play the Stormers.”
The Kings had been planning to name their team yesterday, but were forced to delay the announcement because of injury problems.
