THE Southern Kings plan to pick themselves up and deliver a fighting performance when they travel to Newlands for their Super Rugby showdown against the Stormers on Saturday.
That was the word from a disappointed Kings’ skipper Luke Watson after his team slumped to a 34-22 defeat against the Cheetahs in front of 22000 fans at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
It was a defeat that left the Kings firmly rooted to the foot of the South African conference with just four matches left to play in the competition.
Super Rugby’s rookie team are still hunting for their first South African derby win after slumping to home and away defeats against the Cheetahs and also losing to the Sharks and Bulls.
The remaining matches are Stormers (away), Bulls (away), Stormers (home) and Sharks (away).
