IN a surprise surge for the top spot, the Olympia team of Monde Cola, Nceba Ngcingwane and Selvan Sammy were the winners of the Nelson Mandela Bay Table Tennis Premier League first round.
NMMU B topped the log in the First League.
With the start of the Premier League second round this week, Aryan B were outplayed by Olympia, with Cola winning all his matches for an 8-3 result.
In the other match of the night, St Mark & St John A were no match for Booysens Pride A, losing 11-0.
Following the provincial trials in East London at the weekend, three players from Nelson Mandela Bay made the four- man provincial team. They are Dipal Bhana, Michael de Kock and Ridaa Hendricks. Hendricks was the dark horse from the metro and showed brilliant form in the trials.
They will play in the SA Interprovincial in Cape Town in July.
