New Bay Stars coach appointed

PORT Elizabeth semi-professional football outfit Bay Stars have named former Maritzburg United assistant coach Urban de Kock as the new head coach to replace Mark Harrison.

Harrison left Stars after he was head-hunted by relegation-threatened Cape Town’s Chippa United.

The new mentor will take over immediately after technical director Mark Tommy led the team to two consecutive draws while the club was searching for a head coach.

The new coach said the main objective was to help the team win promotion to the National First Division.

“I’m not here to change what has been done by the previous coach, but to deliver on the mandate of the management to assist the team get promoted at the end of the season.
