ICE-cool Southern Kings drop kick hero Demetri Catrakilis has been praised by his director of coaching, Alan Solomons, for delivering the goods while under pressure.
The unflappable Catrakilis landed a drop-goal after the full-time siren to claim a heart-stopping 30-27 win for the Kings against the Rebels in Melbourne on Saturday.
“We knew Demetri could do it,” a delighted Solomons said.
While the team had not played particularly well, Solomons said, the win again showed the determination and character of the squad.
“A win when you’re not playing well … that says a lot about the team,” he said.
