TWO Brandwag cricketers, Wian Duvenhage and Andre Conradie, hit the batting jackpot when they struck centuries on the same day in their respective matches against Uitenhage rivals Muir recently.
Duvenhage cracked 103 off 101 deliveries to lead the first team to a win by 226 runs, while Conradie was as brisk with his 119 coming off 110 balls in the Brandwag u-14 team’s 110-run win.
The Brandwag first team were in trouble at 28 for four before Duvenhage and Mario Mowers (55) turned the match around with a fifth-wicket stand of 130, helping Brandwag reach 261 in 49 overs.
Muir then suffered a disastrous batting collapse, being dismissed for just 35 as Igre van Niekerk (3/2) and Heino Meyer (2/11) shared the bowling honours.
In the u-14 clash, Conradie’s 119 and John-James Moolman (78 not out) posted a fifth-wicket stand of 213 runs to take Brandwag to 280 for five.
The pair continued their dominance with the ball, Conradie taking one for 21 and Moolman five for 41 as Muir were dismissed for 170.
