Ashraful blasts SA ‘A’

FORMER Test captain Mohammad Ashraful shone with bat and ball as Bangladesh ‘A’ beat their South African counterparts by six wickets in a one-day international at Buffalo Park in East London on Tuesday.
After taking 3/27 with the ball, Ashraful smacked the South African bowlers to all corners of the park on his way to an unbeaten 118, off just 99 balls, his fifth century in limited overs cricket.
After winning the toss, Ashraful had no hesitation in putting the opposition in to bat on what looked to be a slow wicket.
And his decision proved correct as he and his fellow spinners dominated from the start to leave the hosts struggling at 73/6 before Philander, 79 not out, and Dean Elgar (76) put on 121 for the seventh wicket to help SA post a decent score of 226/8.
