Uitenhage girl wins Rose Bowl

UITENHAGE’S Kim Daniels, 15, won the SA girls’ Rose Bowl at Clovelly Country Club last week when she carded 228 (80, 76, 72) to finish one stroke ahead of overnight leader Zayb Kippie, of Royal Cape.
Izel Pieters was third on 230.
The event attracted an excellent field of all South Africa’s top junior golf girls.
Rounds 1 and 2 were played in cool weather but the strong wind tested the players, especially those from up-country.
Just a stroke separated the top trio at the 17th hole, but Pieters found the greenside bunker and two-putted for a bogey, while Kippie also dropped a shot with her chip and two putts.
