New Brighton-born netball star back in Proteas squad

PORT Elizabeth netball star Zanele Mdodana is excited to be back in the Proteas squad to compete in the World Championships in Singapore in July after missing out on an overseas tour last year due to family commitments.
Mdodana is the only player from Nelson Mandela Bay in the 15-member team which was announced after an intensive training camp in Pretoria this week.
New Brighton-born Mdodana, 26, has been playing in the national squad since 2005.
Last year, though, she was sidelined for the World Series tournament in England because of family commitments.
Mdodana said being named in the national team was a tremendous honour.
