Warriors confident going in to Newlands Pro20 final

CHEVROLET Warriors coach Russell Domingo believes his team’s ability to pull through tight matches at the right times this season will stand them in good stead for the Standard Bank Pro20 cricket final.
The Warriors face the Cobras at Newlands on Friday and the defending champions will be backing their skills after success in two closely-fought semi-finals against the Dolphins.
A late barrage off the bat of Craig Thyssen gave the Eastern Cape franchise a 1-0 advantage after the first leg in Port Elizabeth, and they wrapped the tie up thanks to a last-ball boundary from Mark Boucher a week later in Durban.
“The guys have shown good character and calm heads under pressure in this campaign. We cannot underplay the role captain Davy Jacobs plays. He is calming influence and the guys react well to him,” Domingo said yesterday.
The sold-out signs are expected to go up at Newlands today and Domingo is aware of the challenge that presents with a partisan crowd.
