Little love lost as Kings tackle Pumas

THERE will be plenty of scores to settle on Friday when the EP Kings take on the Pumas at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium (7pm).
Following last year’s loss to the Mpumalanga side in the promotion playoffs, and more recently the charges laid against the Kings by the Pumas regarding the transfer fees of former Pumas players now contracted with the Port Elizabeth side – a case which has been postponed – the battle lines have been drawn.
In the Kings line-up for today’s game are three former Pumas in scrumhalf Jacques Coetzee, tighthead prop Ronnie Uys and the man who led the Pumas to their victory over the Kings on October 29 last year, Hannes Franklin, now the Kings’ vice-captain.
The two latter names were instrumental in the Pumas’ victory last year and they hope to do the same for the Kings this time around.
With the Pumas known for their physicality up front, nobody knows what to expect better than Franklin and Uys.
