Bay cyclist Schoeman, 33, still has legs for winning 7th Cape title

AT 33 years old, diminutive Port Elizabeth cyclist Anriette Schoeman says she still has the legs to compete against the eager, younger generation.
A previous multiple winner of the Pick n Pay Cape Argus event, Schoeman is hard at work training for this year’s edition next Sunday.
She will be chasing her seventh victory in the race.
“I’ve been racing every weekend since the middle of January in preparation,” Schoeman said. “The best way to prepare for a big race is to do a whole lot of smaller races. So, I’ve been out of town a lot recently and my life has been very hectic.”
But she says her training has been hampered slightly by the timing of the recent South African Cycling Championships in Port Elizabeth.
