Pirates steal dramatic draw

THULASIZWE Mbuyane scored a dramatic injury-time equaliser for Orlando Pirates to secure a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs in their Absa Premiership match at the FNB Stadium, Soweto, on Saturday afternoon.
A complacent Kaizer Chiefs side will only have themselves to blame on their home ground as they looked to defend a fragile one-goal lead for the entire second period.
The Soweto derby – South Africa’s premier soccer derby – did not provide the quality play the occasion deserved, but the 92000-strong crowd did not seem to care.
Amakhosi were totally dominant in the first half, as were Pirates in the second.
Chiefs scored an early goal through Kaizer Motaung jnr and they continued their good play until half-time. After the break Pirates surged back into the match and always looked deserving of a draw, but they had to wait until injury time to grab a point. – Sapa
