Nyoka says he got boot for sticking to his principles

ONE of the Eastern Cape’s top sport administrators, Mtutuzeli Nyoka, claims he was the victim of a smear campaign by people who wanted him out of cricket.
Nyoka was ousted as president of Cricket SA (CSA) by the body’s members’ forum at a special meeting in Johannesburg earlier this month.
He did not attend the meeting on legal advice as the majority of the affiliate presidents supported a motion of no-confidence in him.
The Border Cricket Board was one of the few affiliates who opposed the no-confidence motion.
The CSA gave no reasons for the motion, but Nyoka said this week the board’s actions were clearly aimed at his opposition to any irregular procedure by board members.
