Saders ahead on Super squash log – for now

AFTER some years in the doldrums, Crusaders find themselves in the rarefied atmosphere of joint log-leaders after two rounds of the men’s Super squash league, although reality may set in from next week.
Saders may not be serious title contenders, but, with Thami Mngcete at No1, they have a solid unit and are lurking dangerously as the dark horses after wins this week against Old Grey and Walmer.
They have earned 37 points from those two games, the same as joint leaders and defending champions Westview, while perennial contenders Londt Park are just one point behind.
Saders’ moment of truth will come against Londt Park on Monday. They then take on Westview on Wednesday.
Westview and Londt Park are lined up to meet each other in the final round of matches on March 2 and unless there are some serious upsets along the way, that could well be the title decider.
