Warriors reach semi-finals

THE Chevrolet Warriors held their nerve to claim a semi-final berth after edging the Highveld Lions by six runs in their Standard Bank Series cricket match at Axxess St George’s on Wednesday night.
Defending a modest 122 runs, the Warriors made the best of a testing pitch to limit the Lions to 116 for eight.
The win took the Warriors to the top of the log while the Lions will need to beat the Dolphins in their final fixture in Durban on Sunday to qualify for the semis.
The Warriors will be looking to win their last game against the Cobras to set up a possible home final.
The Lions looked set to chase down the target of 123 with relative ease with Gulam Bodi and Zander de Bruyn (26) well set at 78 for three in the 14th over.
