Vote of confidence as Smit named Sharks captain

SPRINGBOK skipper John Smit has been re-appointed as Sharks captain for the 2011 Super Rugby season by coach John Plumtree.
But his appointment as skipper does not necessarily mean he is starting the season as the first-choice hooker after Plumtree acknowledged that Smit would play both prop and hooker.
Incumbent Bok No 2 Bismarck du Plessis is also vying for the Sharks hooking berth.
“He is the only player in world rugby who can do that (play tighthead and loosehead prop and hooker) and I will have no hesitation in switching him between the three because I know that he will be fit enough to play any of them,” Plumtree said on the Sharks website.
