The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) warned its political competitors that the party would spare no punches come the 2019 national elections.
“Our central focus for 2017 is organisational building‚” EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu said.
“We are going to focus on what we will do to strengthen the organisation … so that we are ready for 2018 and 2019 to contest the general elections with necessary presence in all the wards‚ all regions and provinces.”
He was addressing the media at the party’s third plenum‚ which started on Friday morning and is due to end on Sunday afternoon.
“The organisation has assigned the most senior leadership to the provinces where we do not have strong presence — from KwaZulu-Natal to the Eastern Cape — but to strengthen even here in Gauteng‚” Shivambu added.
About 260 senior EFF representatives from across the country are meeting to discuss a political report by party leader Julius Malema and to review its 2016 local government elections.
