Striking Nelson Mandela Bay municipal refuse workers are expected to return to work today after a new agreement was reached with bosses.
The agreement is expected to be signed today. Mayor’s office chief of staff Kristoff Adelbert said the
municipality would release more details at a later stage. He said that, in the interim, the municipality had managed to conduct refuse collections in most parts of the city.
“Waste-management staff, supervisors and workers not on strike have been collecting refuse. There were also two service providers assisting.”
