1 Luthando Siyoni: The Section 204 witness who claims Christopher Panayiotou hired him to find hitmen to kidnap and kill Jayde.

2 Cherise Swanepoel: Jayde’s good friend and colleague at Riebeek College. On the morning of her kidnapping, Jayde had been waiting for Swanepoel to give her a lift to work.

3 Toni Inggs: Jayde’s feisty younger sister who has been at almost every court appearance since her brother-in-law’s arrest. Inggs has driven a campaign aimed at seeking justice for Jayde.

4 Derrick Inggs: Jayde’s softspoken father.

5 Babalwa Breakfast: Siyoni’s girlfriend, who was allegedly the first to tell police everything she knew about Jayde’s murder.

6 Captain Willie Mayi: A member of the Metro Hijacking Task Team who arrested Siyoni.

7 Captain Kanna Swanepoel: The investigating officer.

8 Chanelle Coutts: An employee at Panayiotou’s OK Grocer in Algoa Park. It emerged that Coutts had been having an affair with Panayiotou.

9 Warrant Officer Leon Eksteen: Involved in the police trap between Panayiotou and Siyoni. The defence claims Eksteen, who was a family friend of the Panayiotous, played the role of a double agent.
Eksteen also claims Costa Panayiotou approached him at some point with suspicions of a romantic relationship between Coutts and his son.

10 Clarishka Kapp: Coutts’s best friend who claims Panayiotou contacted her on the day of his wedding claiming to have cold feet.

11 Donovan Vosloo: An NMMU IT expert who admitted to wiping the information off the phones of Panayiotou and Coutts after Jayde’s death.

12 Tracy Smith: A neighbour at Jayde and Christopher’s Stellen Glen Complex home in Kabega Park.

13 Captain Stanley Ndzendeni: Stationed at the Fort Beaufort police station where Siyoni was taken to give a statement.

14 Mawonga Ndedwa: A former employee of Panayiotou.

15 Marilyn Woods: The headmistress of Riebeek College where Jayde taught.

16 Petro Heynecke and Madeleine Brits: Both cellphone experts who will testify about the accused’s billing information.

17 Thereza Botha: A cellphone expert who assisted the state to arrest Sinethemba Nemembe and Zolani Sibeko by allegedly placing them at the scene of the crime through cellphone tower plotting

18 Dr Kevin Fourie: Conducted the postmortem on Jayde.

19 Other witnesses include Detective Constable Andre Koen of the Kabega Park Detective Services, Captain Anthonie van As of the Kabega Park police station, Warrant Officer Dirk Greeff of Kabega Park, Warrant Officer Shane Kuhn of the Directorate of Priority Crimes Investigations, Lieutenant Gideon Olivier of the forensics unit, Warrant Officer Paul Franks of the K9 Unit and Constable Thapelo Mabija of the Provincial Tracing Team.
