Letter: Churches prayed for election

The peaceful sequence of events during the election was a concern to many voters, especially in the Nelson Mandela metro. The spiritual intervention by various churches in the city, by means of prayer meetings, contributed immensely to the harmonising and peaceful manner in which the election occurred.

Churches prayed on, inter alia, the following pointers: For peace and prosperity; That the results would be accepted by all, and for leaders to be calm and embrace a spirit of unity, towards the upliftment of our beautiful city; That any form of corruption be rooted out and the election be free and fair; That the will of God be done.
