Letter: Walus must confess

JANUSZ Walus’s parole has really put the parole system of this country under scrutiny and our justice system has never been tested like this before. Dimpo Hani’s daughter is dead right, you cannot get into the country and murder someone you do not know without getting information.

As a state you set up conditions, you cannot just release somebody for the sake of reaching his parole years without him making a full confession or being ready to reintegrate into society. This just does not make sense to me. The state has to convince us why they should release him without him making a full disclosure. In the first place this man was on death row and was saved by the bell.

My only suggestion to the state is to let him make a confession so that we can have closure in this case. If he cannot do that, let him rot in jail. By doing that, justice will be served without doing any harm or favours to anybody.
