Letter: Look for the positive

LET’S skip this racism thing and devote our attention to more pressing issues like the drought in our country. It is urgent and is having devastating effects on all of us irrespective of who we are. Thank you to kindhearted and generous people of the Eastern Cape who are playing a huge part in getting water to those humans and animals who have none. As our prayers go up unabated for precious rain, let us, who are fortunate to have, treasure every drop by not wasting. We as a country have so much going for us. We must remember in 1994 we were an example to the whole world.

Don’t busy ourselves with hurtful, inflammatory statements which only divide us and push us further apart. Let’s forgive one another, join hands and fight the calamities like drought, poverty, a poor economy, lack of employment, disease and misery together. That’s the spirit – we can do it. Let’s make a joint effort to see good in all God's people.
