ONE has to wonder if the NMB Municipality is serious about electricity theft.
A while ago I noticed that a cable had been laid from an electricity pole in Community Street across the road to the informal houses in Walmer Township. It was very professionally done as the groove cut across the road was repaired with tar.
I reported this to municipal spokesman Roland Williams via the Bay FM programme. Nothing was done.
The lack of removal of the first cable has resulted in a cable being laid from almost every pole in the street. The latest have not been well done, and the twin and earth cable is visible on the road.
It is only a matter of time before bare wires are exposed and another child electrocuted. Come on NMB Municipality, get serious.
