Yet another clanger as motor museum closes

DEAD END DECISION: St Croix Motor Museum founder Eben de Vos with a 1930 Chevrolet Sports Roadster
DEAD END DECISION: St Croix Motor Museum founder Eben de Vos with a 1930 Chevrolet Sports Roadster

WITH reference to the recent closure of the St Croix Motor Museum, it proves once again that Port Elizabeth is gradually losing most of its tourist attractions.

The iconic motor museum was established to benefit our city and our entire country.

Tourists from all over the world and our country visited this exhibition of old cars and memorabilia that was housed in a historic World War 2 aeroplane hangar.

Apart from the closure of our motor museum the Apple Express train and our world renowned dolphins have been lost to Port Elizabeth and our campanile and our observatory are also virtually non-existent.

As with the fatal decision to dismantle our self-supporting power station at Swartkops, the decision to close down this St Croix Motor Museum is without foresight, and to the detriment of the community and country.

“No worries mate” as the Australians would say.

PeeYee has finally attracted the world attention with our own Al Qaeda training camp in our own backyard…..Soon, we will have tourists from CIA, FBI, MI6, KGB (or whatever they call themselves today), thrill seekers, James Bond and James Bundu, and even John LeCarre could consider establishing his headquarters…….
Curry bombs will never be the same, I’m afraid….
