Please allow me as a regular reader of The Herald to vent some spleen and perhaps ask for some help.
Jutland Crescent in Central, at one time a quiet middle class area, is deteriorating rapidly. Prostitutes, crime and street sleepers abound, cars are broken into and stolen, houses and flats are not safe.
I have lived in this street for some 30 years and never has it been so bad. On last Monday night I witnessed a prostitute and client entering what once was a upper class block of flats.
I refuse to say: “Ho ho ho” and leave it there. The destroyed house at the end of the street is home to many beggars and prostitutes.
Where are the police, where is our ward councillor? Where is the community spirit?
Thank you, editor, for a still worthwhile read in this day of trite rubbish in many papers and on the net.
