Repairs to road uncompleted

The letter, “Central street hit by crime” (January 26), evoked an interest in the situation in Walmer where a road repair at the corner of Short Road and 11th Avenue (golf course side) has been in progress probably since the beginning of December, and now lies unattended to and incomplete for the best part of a month.

This road detour is a huge traffic hazard and vehicles from either the Short Road or River Road sides are mounting the verge to bypass the apparent reconstruction.

Even at the busiest time when the reconstruction was in progress there appeared to be only two people attending to what was required. Surely our road and traffic authorities can do a little better than this and bring what appears to be a simple road repair to finality before a major accident occurs on the site.
