All must have freedom of expression

WITH reference to the attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine staff, there is no such a thing as absolute freedoms. Our freedoms are always limited and balanced by other considerations.

Also, one cannot look at freedom of expression in isolation, but within the context of current geo-politics. One must look at the total “clash of civilisations” and Islamophobic paradigm in France in particular and the western world in general.

Freedom of expression is a double-edged sword. If you want your freedom to express, then also give me my freedom to express.

But in the US, there are many Muslims languishing in jail for that very reason: they expressed themselves verbally and in writing which went against the ruling pro-Zionist paradigm. If you want your freedom to mock, then also give me my freedom to mock.
