Street poles disappearing

TRAVELLING between Markman and Aloes on the Addo road, I have noticed a lot of street poles disappearing. From the Motherwell fire station, turning left towards Uitenhage at the Coega crossing, it seems they get sawn off during darkness and removed, to be sold as scrap metal.
No lights on that part at night! Any response from the metro?
This after that school was also carried away brick by brick.
