Hitler remarks truly offensive

I FIRST saw this heinous post ("ANC poll worker in Hitler row", Herald July 15) on Facebook and was appalled at the hatred spewed forth by someone who claims to work in the ANC's communications office, in the Western Cape.

With Madiba Day almost upon us (this Friday), I recoil in embarrassment at how our esteemed former president would view such a post ... To make those Nazi remarks is beyond disgusting and is hurtful and offensive to the Jewish community at large.

This is an affront to human dignity and to reconciliation and should not go unnoticed or unchecked ... to say that one represents the ruling political party in this country and then make such despicable statements is truly horrific.

I simply cannot stay silent ... especially in light of Madiba Day coming up and our "67 minutes" being done as a tribute to his memory.
