Province in good hands

LET me congratulate premier and ANC chairperson Phumulo Masualle on his first state of the province address. It is indeed clear that the ANC and Eastern Cape are in good hands.

The leadership deployed to the Bhisho legislature is sober, and for that I congratulate the ANC branches and leadership in Calata House under Oscar Mabuyane. The Eastern Cape is now going in the right direction.

I'm appealing to those heading departments and municipal managers to co-operate to ensure they deliver ANC policies and programmes as outlined in the ANC manifesto, NDP and other policy documents. It is time under this sober leadership to remove these head of department puppets including these useless municipal managers.

We'll assist our premier in ensuring that rotten potatoes are eliminated. Regarding the Buffalo City scandal, I appeal to the people of Buffalo City to give law agencies time.

Let's not be the judges in this regard. Let the accused have their day in court without interference of any people outside law agencies.

These comrades arrested are innocent until proven otherwise. Our task is to give the court its day.

The ANC is sober in this regard and against corruption in all spheres. With the leadership we have in the province we must be calm and wait.

Let's draw on the example of the Buffalo City municipal manager qualifications saga, which everybody was shouting about it, but courts proved otherwise. Andile Fani is now a free man, a qualified manager and no one is apologising.

It is unfortunate the education department head was suspended, but this was correct because these heads of department run our departments as their farms, undermining the ANC leadership.
