Archaic uniforms leave kids frozen and sick

ON taking my little grandson to school last week I felt so sorry for him.

All dressed-up in his uniform - white shirt, blazer, little grey shorts and socks, smart – if it was not for the little skinny 10-year- old legs that were basically BLUE from the cold! He was shivering from head to toe he was so cold.

They are busy with exams at the moment. Please tell me how do you concentrate when you are sooooooo cold!

I did notice though that the teachers were all dressed to keep the cold out!

Why are some primary schools so set on a uniform dress code that they are oblivious to the need to change? How do kids get a 100% attendance when they cannot dress warm enough to stay healthy and comfortable?

I hope you can find it in your hearts to help our little ones stay warm during school times.
