'Millionaires' row' now a death road for motorists

KRAGGA Kamma Road was once millionaires' row, but now is death row. I am, as a last resort, writing this letter with the hope of getting a response.

On numerous occasions I have telephoned and written letters to the traffic department regarding painting lines on Kragga Kamma Road. Lines are not visible during the day, let alone at night!

On Wednesday last week we had a very bad accident in front of the entrance to Country Gardens Estate. This is not the first time.

Whenever someone indicates to turn into the estate, the vehicle behind thinks you are overtaking another in front and then accidents occur. Our stop sign has been removed/stolen, the painted stop sign is not visible and overhanging trees are shading the road so badly that a vehicle is not visible in certain areas.

The majority of drivers do not stop at the crossing from Welcome Road into Kragga Kamma Road either.

I have stopped and requested speed traps from a traffic officer, when they had a roadblock in Kragga Kamma Road.

Please is there someone who can help? I am giving permission to The Herald to give my e-mail address to people who would like to contact me in this regard, such as the traffic department or ward councillor.
