Williams's staff come to rescue

AS a well-known musician and artist in Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and the surrounding areas, I have experienced both good and bad situations when it comes to being compensated for work done.

I was recently approached to do a gala evening hosted by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. Never did it ever cross my mind that this would bring me much frustration.

I was however deeply disappointed and angered when after months I had not received any payment nor had I been contacted to be informed as to why this was happening.

The service I received from staff at the department I contacted, upon inquiring, was unsatisfactory, not to mention pathetic. I was being sent from pillar to post, not receiving the help nor the answers I was looking for.

In desperation I decided to vent my frustrations on a social media site. It was then that I was given a glimmer of hope in my then seemingly losing battle.

I was contacted by Roland Williams within minutes. I have to express what a breath of fresh air it was dealing with such incredible and competent staff.

Not only did they attend to my situation immediately, but they have followed up with me every day since. Therefore, I would hereby like to thank Williams and his staff who were hands-on in resolving my issue.

The service that I rendered and my payment had nothing to do with Williams's office, but he and his staff took it upon themselves to resolve my issue. If it wasn't for them I would still be waiting and who knows I might never have been compensated.

Hopefully this will get the attention of the NMBM and that it will bring about a change in how it deals with its service providers. It would be a great loss if the musicians should decide not to render their services to it in future.
