Overall wearers draw big salaries

IT is ironic that the EFF, and Julius Malema in particular, should turn up to parliament dressed as low-paid workers to emphasise that it represents them ("Red tide sweeps into parliament", May 26), while the MPs are earning in excess of R1-million per year. Malema must be one of the most hypocritical politicians in South Africa.

He funnels money, which should be used to alleviate the suffering of the poor, into thinly disguised trusts. And he does not pay his taxes.

Nationalising the mines under an EFF government will only afford more opportunities for cronies for more kickbacks in exchange for corrupt tenders.

The mines will run inefficiently as a result and ultimately collapse.

How will this help the poor, if they then lose their jobs?

It is such a pity that so many are fooled by the posturing of the EFF.

The trust that poor people have placed in the EFF is misplaced.
