Dangerous entrance to grounds

THE Gelvan Grounds is a multi-purpose sports facility that serves soccer, cricket, hockey and bowls. On weekends it is extremely busy with vehicles entering and leaving the facility.

The entrance to the grounds is desperately in need of traffic lights that have an arrow to allow cars safe passage into the ground. The danger is when you approach from the Gelvan Park area travelling in the direction of Helenvale and wanting to turn right into the grounds.

Traffic moving from the direction of Helenvale towards the Papenkuil cemetery is all travelling at considerable speeds. It is an accident waiting to happen.

The roadworks in progress makes it even more dicey at times to safely negotiate your way into the grounds in the face of oncoming traffic. Stanford Road is extremely busy on any given day.

Surely this problem can be solved without any fuss. Lives are at risk here.
