MINISTER DISMISSES NKANDLA SPENDING

ANOTHER “minister” in town, another stupid statement. Here is the thing, Mr Nxesi, we live in South Africa, a poor country where our people are hungry, without houses, jobs, toilets, proper schools, the list is endless, and not in “any other country ” as you put it. So yes, we are complaining about President Jacob Zuma’s upgrade of R246-million. Once you have all the above in place will we stop complaining.

LOLLY

SO easy for Thulas Nxesi to talk about a few millions because he’s benefiting from his master. What a betrayal of workers. Zwelinzima Vavi and Irvin Jim, please come up with a Workers Party. For now I’ll do it for Nelson Mandela on the 7th, not Jacob Zuma.

CJT, SADTU

YOU are wrong, Thulas Nxesi. You are a disgrace to all Sadtu members. To say people are moaning for a few millions is nonsense. I’m a Sadtu member, an ANC member. I’ll vote for the ANC because there’s no alternative that I see but please minister, don’t talk nonsense. Jacob Zuma is killing the ANC.

C JAMELA

SO it is only a few million spent on Nkandla and why worry! And so let them eat cake, as once was said and we know then what took place!

OUBOK

HOOLIGAN of the day: you were very unfair to Thulas Nxesi. What about the other 2000 who came to listen to him?

ANC NOW WANTS COLOURED VOTE

CHRISTIAN Martin, you called the coloured people traitors in 2011 because they did not vote for the ANC. Today you are begging these traitors to vote for you. Cedric Frolick, your president called our coloureds drunkards. Now you are used to sweep Nkandla under the carpet. These poor people are not getting jobs.

TWO SIDES TO MOVE TO DEMOCRACY

IT takes two to tango. Without whites willingly handing over power peacefully, South Africa would have stuttered along under sanctions and with no future. Let’s be truthful, there was no armed struggle and not even a Syria-styled insurgency.

RULING PARTY HAS GOOD STORY TO TELL

THE ANC has a good story to tell, the crux of which is that on April 27 1994 the black majority were freed from the evils of grand apartheid. The cornerstone of this was a child’s future was determined by his or her skin colour. That was stage one of the ANC-led national democratic revolution. Let the ANC continue with its task.

DR GALLOWAY.

TELL IT AS YOU SEE IT

KAZEKA Mashologu Kuse, why don’t you come right out and say it: if you will only vote for a person because of skin colour and not because he/she is the best for the job, that is racist and if you can’t see that, you shouldn’t be doing the job you are doing.

POORLY TREATED AT LIVINGSTONE HOSPITAL

I WAS taken to Livingstone Hospital, seen by a sister and told I was an emergency patient. I have yellow jaundice. I was No17. By 10pm I still hadn’t seen a doctor. One doctor per 100 patients. The toilets are disgusting with faeces all over walls and floors. One can see it hasn’t been cleaned for months. Staff are very rude. What’s the health minister doing? This is in casualty. Disgusting. I left the hospital at 10pm not having seen a doctor. You are treated like wild animals.

REPLIES TO READERS’ COMMENTS

GIFT Siphiwo Ngqondi, a quick lesson in common sense. To distribute wealth, wealth must be created and to create wealth people need a work ethic. Where has socialism worked, in Africa? Workers are striking this country into oblivion.

STEVE from Walmer, get your facts right. Buck House and the other palaces belong to the state, not the queen. Buck House is her official residence, Mahlamba Ndlopfu is JZ’s – in each case the state must pay. The queen, not the state pays for Sandringham and Balmoral which she owns personally. JZ must therefore pay for Nkandla.
