MOBILE AGAIN: Jeffreys Bay resident Maggie Bezuidenhout with her new crutches

THE life of Maggie Bezuidenhout, of Pellsrus, changed dramatically after receiving a new pair of crutches (a donation from the people of Jeffreys Bay). The previous wooden pair she had was unsuitable for her needs.

Now she can resume her work as community worker in the area even with a poorly healed foot.

Maggie is one of many persons with a disability being assisted by the OPD (Organisation for and from People with Disabilities South Africa). This non-profit organisation works actively in the local townships identifying people in need of wheelchairs and walking aids.

The OPD depends totally on donations from a sympathetic public to assist people like Maggie. The OPD’s contact number is 076-145-2681 or you can e-mail info@opd-sa.co.za
