WELL said, Ismail Mahomed (“Strong women give direction”, April 16). Judge Thokozile Masipa’s calm and dignified control has by all accounts been an excellent advert for our legal system.
Not only is she presiding over the murder trial of a prominent white man, she is also presiding over very senior white male lawyers.
You make a very good point that at Woman’s Day we should celebrate strong, capable women like Masipa and also Thuli Madonsela, rather than the often embarrassing and grandstanding political figures.
As you say we should also remember the victims, like Anene Booysen.
