Tasteless headline

YOUR newspaper yesterday morning excelled itself with the tackiest, most tasteless headline I have ever seen, and there have been many close, “It’s ‘snot and trane’ as Oscar says he’s sorry”. Have you not realised that this is a terrible tragedy?

Please leash in your reporters and sub-editors, and teach them accurate reporting, and taste, manners and dignity. When they speculate, as they did in the murder of Hazel Huggins, they don’t seem to realise what heartache they give to family and friends.

Please let us be proud of our newspaper and not have to cringe with embarrassment.
