I LIVE on the corner of Walter Road and Bailey Street, Charlo, Port Elizabeth. Job seekers outside our house have increased from five to 14.

This is largely due to the fact that somebody in a white Camry stops outside our house, and provides food and bottles of cool drink.

The job seekers then leave the papers and bottles stuffed in our hedge.

There are no rubbish bins here or toilets, and hence our hedge is also used for urinating and defecating by 14 people (that is about 28-plus amounts of human excreta daily). The stench is terrible.

The rats are proliferating and entering our yard.

Later in the day there are a few young men in a Golf who allegedly provide drugs, and the crowd become rowdy and aggressive.

This has made it very unsafe and sometimes impossible for me to leave my property.

We have spent nearly R5000 in the last six months to clean up this area of debris and human excreta.

We cannot remove the hedge since we have had two cars landing in our yard and the hedge is out only protection. The metro has no money to put a railing up to protect us.

On March 13 at 11am the white Camry was seen by our garden service staff who had just cleared up a terrible mess.

As they cleaned up the people came and gave more food and the job seekers then threw more rubbish into our hedge. I am appealing to anybody who can identify these people to please contact me on 084-904-9123.

There are currently a number of organised feeding schemes for the poor and hungry in our area, and I can direct you to these.

Newton Park Methodist Church (that we support) also has an excellent feeding scheme.

I provide a mission out of town with enormous amounts of food and clothing reaching about 250 orphaned children.

I am appealing to these people to do their good, charitable deeds in a meaningful way without making life hell for us.
