Midweek votes hinder economy

ANY government which has so little understanding of commerce and industry – it, yet again, declares a holiday in the middle of the week (election day) – is one that will lead the country into poverty.

There is no such thing as a free meal and there is no such thing as a free day off. Industries that have continuous processes are not controlled with the flick of a switch.

To my knowledge, some will not be able to produce during that week due to the cost of stopping and restarting.

This dissuades potential investors who are already concerned about the unreliability of power supply and other services, and an unproductive workforce.

Unfortunately the self-enriching government does not care and the voting masses don't understand.
