Not able to buy electricity online

IN response to press articles, I decided to avail myself of the opportunity to purchase electricity online. I followed the steps regarding registering with WireIT, that is registering the 11 digit meter number on my swipe card with it.

It confirmed via SMS that it had been registered and I could proceed to purchase electricity.

At Nedbank I had WireIT NMBM added onto my profile as a beneficiary. The only problem was that when I added the amount to be paid at the SST machine, it came up with a message to the effect that I had attempted to make a payment into a restricted account.

My telephone call to WireIT was responded to by a pleasant man called Lionel, but he had no solution to my inability to purchase electricity.

I will be grateful if someone with additional knowledge can assist.
