FIST FIGHT AT STADIUM
ROBBI Kempson’s comments about “players must develop killer instinct” and “it is time his team learnt to put the knife in” might be wrongly interpreted by players and supporters alike. Maybe compulsory body searches of players prior to matches may also have to be introduced.
WILLEM Oliphant, so it is OK if fists fly at the end of a good game? Think you can expect a lot of trunk calls.
EP Kings-Despatch game and Southern Kings-Lions game were very good. EP Kings and Southern Kings, keep it up and up your game every week. To the supporters who were not there, you missed out watching two very good matches.

NO RESULTS FOR HERALD CHILDREN’S EVENT
DOES your 10km cycle race (on Saturday) mean nothing as not a single result is given in The Herald? We were very proud of my 10-year-old grandson who came second overall, beating adults. Surely he (and the winner) deserve some recognition? Plenty of news about the longer races so why nothing about the 10km? Shocking reporting!
THE 10km event was a children’s fun ride and therefore does not receive an official timing. When children are under 12 years old, they are required to enter with an adult. – The Herald marketing team
CLEAN UP THE CITY FIRST, MR MAYOR
RENAMING of airport: Mr Fihla, your first priority is to clean this filthy city of ours before you think of anything else. You do nothing about this. I would be too ashamed to be called the mayor. If you then want to rename the airport then call it filthy town airport and go on pension, which you should have done 25 years ago.
OUR mayor should worry less about the name of the airport and more about the state of our city and stopping corruption. Wishful thinking!
HOW dare mayor Ben Fihla even think of a name change for our airport at a time when our province is battling financially?

BEACHFRONT GRASS NEEDS WATERING
THE grass on our beautiful beachfront needs watering, Mr Mniki. What is your explanation for the brown grass?
WELL DONE ON POSITIVE INITIATIVE
CONGRATS to The Herald for the HappyPE and InspirePE initiatives. PE is such a wonderful place, with wonderful people. Pity there are still many who choose to remain negative. Well done to The Herald for being part of the community. Now if AlgoaFM could do the same.
CONGRATS TO SCHOOL FOR HELPING BABIES
CONGRATULATIONS to the Victoria Park High School Interact Club, a service club attached to the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth South, on its magnificent donation of R28000 to the Dora Nginza Hospital for much needed medical equipment for the neonatal and paediatric intensive care units.
DAVE CARTWRIGHT, PRESIDENT OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF PORT ELIZABETH SOUTH
NO FACTUAL BASIS FOR DARWIN CLAIM
MANDLA Seleoane, as always a great read. However your reference to Charles Darwin recanting his theory of evolution on his deathbed has no factual basis in any literature on the great man. It still persists in church propaganda it seems.
DA-AGANG PACT COLLAPSES
THE tragedy of our times: the young, black anti-ANC members of Agang are just unable to join the DA, the white DA just unable to be home for them. What a loss for SA, but an eye-opener for the DA, especially locally, where the actions just continue to conspire against them being representative of all. Regrettably, however, a vote for Agang now is a wasted vote.
THE DA and Agang should rather merge and form a new party, DA Gang. It has a nice ring to it.
ONE does not need to be a genius to comprehend that Mamphela Ramphele jumped the ship rather than acknowledging political disaster.
CAN’T COLLECT DEBT SA OWES MANDELA
RIANA Ferreira displays a photo of the late Nelson Mandela as a backup to her “Debt collection trends” as displayed on her PC screen. Not even she can collect the debt South Africans, black and white, owe him.
WARRIORS LOSE OUT ON SPOT IN PLAYOFFS
WARRIORS cricket: Wayne Parnell’s no ball against the Titans has cost the franchise a spot in the playoffs! How you feeling now, Mr Parnell? Not sure your team mates are that forgiving now, are they?

DEAD FISH IN RIVER AND SEA
“SCORES of fish in Baakens die”: enough of ANC-controlled NMBM spokesmen making idiotic statements regarding natural disasters within the metro. The dead fish were found in and around Essexvale – far up the river – but the municipality was not ruling out the possibility that this was a result of red tide. Has the red tide done a turnaround and entered the harbour area and flowed upstream? The NMBM spokesmen are once again unable to comprehend and give a serious report on any current health situation – always in denial. It goes with out saying that once again the ANC has not performed. I like it.
REGARDING dead fish, the prime cause was sudden arrival of a cold current which dropped sea temp from 25°C to as low as 10°C. This killed the red tide and fish.
TOURNAMENT A FINANCIAL DISASTER
NO matter what is said Chan 2014 has been another financial disaster for the host cities. Grounds were between 10 and 30% full. Even for the final the ground was only 30% full. Who pays for this deficit?
