Blessings to generous man

I HAD a distressing experience – losing my purse containing ID book, driver's licence, cards and approximately R200 cash – when shopping at Moffett on Main last week.

There is so much kindness in this world – firstly, a man from Walmer Heights found all my cards, he contacted our Echo Foundation matron, Lilian Swanepoel (a tower of strength to us all when in trouble), and she arranged to collect and return them to me in Summerstrand.

While waiting at the bank a day later, I related this sad tale to another woman in the queue and we agreed it was hard, as a pensioner, to lose R200 in cash. In the supermarket a little later a very nice-looking, tall young man said he had overheard my conversation in the bank, he was very blessed and he wanted to give me a blessing.

He pressed something into my hand and quickly walked away. That blessing was R200.

I am sure that he was a blessing to his parents when he was born and remains a blessing to everyone today.

My grateful thanks and blessings go to all these wonderful people whose warmth and kindness helped and supported me.
