Thank you to hard-working firefighters

WE have had the most scary bush fires in the Sherwood/Kamma Park area which started last week. However on Friday there were fires burning all at the same time in very dry wooded areas (along the Guinea Fowl Trail/ Baakens River).

The reason though for my letter is to pass on our grateful thanks to the fire department personnel who worked tirelessly from about 10am to 10pm. The women and men worked equally hard and at no time were rude or short with any of us who asked questions.

Although none of our homes were at any time in danger it was comforting to know that they were on hand. The fire, with the help of the wind, jumped from spot to spot so they were literally "putting our fires" the whole time.
