All responsible for own safety

WITH reference to The Herald article on the Walmer Boulevard accident in which a woman was injured ("'Take bumps away before someone dies'", January 22), the picture published in Monday's Herald shows the car. Clearly seen is the damage to the front windscreen most likely caused by the impact of the driver's head.

For the driver's head to reach the windscreen, the seat belt either malfunctioned or was not being worn. A timely reminder that we are all responsible for our own safety.
